Профессор Холл из Ливерпуля в целях сравнения научного и публичного эффектов деятельности различных academics придумал индекс, которому он присвоил имя американской телезвезды Ким Кардашьян. Для оценки публичного эффекта использовался анализ профилей ученых и учОных в социальных сетях.
