Авроора и лунная радуга

September 20, 2016 @ Reykjanes, Iceland

Big rain clouds had been rolling over the whole day with good gaps in between. The moon was almost full and aurora activity had been picking up throughout the day. I knew it was the perfect conditions to witness and capture a lunar rainbow with the northern lights together. All the right conditions were in place. It was also the perfect opportunity to test the new 5D Mark IV so I was really looking forward to going out that night.
As the night progressed, the aurora activity got stronger and I saw pieces of lunar rainbows every now and then so when the clouds finally parted for the lights and the lunar rainbow was the strongest, I was ready. =)

Shot on the Reykjanes peninsula in Iceland with the northern lights dancing above, the light pollution from the town of Keflavik lighting up the clouds in the lower left corner and a fading blue hour from the sunset in the lower right and of course the lunar rainbow in the middle. I´ve never witnessed a lunar rainbow and lady Aurora dancing hand in hand before. What a night... =)
